Meet Dr. Ryan Tran, Ph.D., LMFT
I’m Dr. Ryan Tran, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Rise Family Counseling. I created Rise to be a space where men, women, and couples can feel understood, supported, and equipped with the tools to grow.

As a Vietnamese American therapist with a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology, I’ve seen firsthand how cultural and personal expectations can make it hard to open up about what’s really going on beneath the surface — especially for men. My work focuses on helping clients break free from those pressures, reconnect with who they are, and build the confidence to show up authentically in their relationships and lives.
Growing up in a traditional home, I learned the importance of hard work and success — but also how easily emotions can be pushed aside in that pursuit. That experience shaped how I approach therapy today: with empathy, cultural awareness, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to do the inner work.

At Rise Family Counseling, my goal is simple: to provide a safe, grounded space where you can explore what’s been holding you back and take real steps toward clarity, confidence, and connection.

Clients often describe me as calm, genuine, and down-to-earth — someone who listens without judgment and helps them see things from a new perspective. Whether you’re coming in on your own or with your partner, we’ll work together to help you move forward with more balance, purpose, and strength.

“Real change starts with honest conversations — about where you are, what’s holding you back, and who you want to become.”
Journey & Experience
With more than 15 years of experience in community mental health, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life. My approach blends practical tools with genuine connection — helping clients make meaningful change without losing sight of their humanity.
